- Prepare Your Environment: Lie back flat in a quiet room with your abdomen exposed.
- Apply Coupling Gel: Spread a generous layer of ultrasound gel (or aloe vera gel/baby oil) over your lower abdomen to reduce static noise.
- Power On: Insert 3x AAA batteries into the compartment and turn on the device.
- Locate the Heartbeat: Place the 2.5MHz probe against your lower belly (usually below the navel, closer to the pubic bone in earlier weeks of pregnancy). Move and angle the probe slowly until you hear a fast, rhythmic sound similar to a galloping horse.
- Check the Readings: Hold the probe steady once the sound is clear. Read the digital pulse rate (bpm) and inspect the heart rate curve on the LCD screen.
- Clean & Store: Gently wipe the remaining gel off the probe with a tissue. The device will automatically power down after 1 minute of non-use.
